African American Women Notecards

Problem: The female notecard set is the final piece in my five revised print portfolio for this week. This work, requested by a local client, wanted two notecards created with my line drawings in the form of African American women. The request was for a simple design focused on the woman’s face with no additional color. These cards were going to be her stationery. I inquired about adding a monogram or something similar, but the client declined.

Solution: My drawings are created on Strathmore 300 Series Smooth Bristol paper with Sakura micron pens from size 005-08. Once I finished the drawing and the client accepted it, I used photoshop and the threshold adjustment layer tool to remove the background so it could be printed successfully at the local print shop. This piece displays my attention to detail and ability to implement feedback across projects. These cards were printed professionally at the local printing shop. There were no issues.
